About our Half Sleeves
The perfect solution for that medieval layered look but still be comfortable in the heat of summer! The pin-in half sleeves for our wildly popular front-laced gowns can be used to brighten up your frontlaced gown with more color and also used to replace the underdress typically worn with the gown. By the 15th century, Europe in the little ice age, and fashions reflected this with additional layers. Today, beat global warming while still looking like a fashionable, late medieval lady. (Ok, for you purists, pin-in sleeves actually are period too- in a world without air-conditioning, summers were still plenty warm in Europe, and no self-respecting lady wandered about with her arms bare (good Lord, the next thing you know, women would start showing their ankles, and who knows where it might go next!). To be very authentic and in colder weather you can layer these over the white sleeves of your underdress as well.
